TLD is an acryonym for TOP LEVEL Domain.

The TLD is the rightmost part of a domain after the last "dot".

It is best illustrated with examples:

    • <-- COM is the TLD.

    • <-- MX is the TLD. In this case, MX is also a ccTLD.

    • <-- COM is the TLD.
