Q. What is the best TLD?

I am buying a domain for my new business, what TLD should I use? COM, NET, ORG?

    When people can't remember a domain, they guess .COM.

    On the iPhone, selecting .COM is made easier by having a specific button for .COM:

    iPhone keyboard with .COM button.

    .COM is the reigning king of domain TLDs. It has the most registrations and is clearly the most well known by computer users.

    This has been true for 20 years. And will probably continue to be true for the forseable future.

    ICAAN, the organization that regulates domain names, is planning on adding more TLD's in coming years. Experts predict 100-1500 new TLDs by 2011-2012.
